Our love for The Get Up Kids blossomed circa Something To Write Home About. Back in those days we managed a store down on Gould Street, Bondi Beach. On an almost-daily basis we would inundate unsuspecting customers with recounts of our counting of the ways in which we loved TGUK.
Our hearts were broken when our Darlinghurst bar boss wouldn’t give us one night off to attend their Metro show, 2004.
Then they disbanded.
Now hope has been restored and love reignited. They are touring with the Soundwave Festival and are also playing two sideshows. Now that’s something to write home about.
