A misspelt sign taped to the inside of the Hopetoun’s glass door was the bearer of the bad news. Sydney’s iconic, albeit at times incredibly smelly live music venue declared itself closed until further notice today.
Kluster is yet to receive official notice from the venue’s owners but all accounts, including one broadcasted on independent Sydney radio station, FBi, confirm the bad news. Reasons currently cited include mounting bills, legislation and licensing issues.
The masses stand ready and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the closure is not permeant. The newly formed Facebook group is already bulging at the seams. Don't be shy, have your say.
