Sydney/New York-based artist Daniel Askill has been a busy boy of late. Making, among other things, a series of films exploring human rituals. Tomorrow night Monster Children is hosting the opening for Artifacts From The Fifth Ritual, a collection of Askill’s video, photographic and sculptural works.
Askill first attracted international attention earlier this decade with the release of his acclaimed film, We Have Decided Not to Die (staring Kluster's fashion photographer, Kasia Werstak). He is the founder of Collider, a ‘multidisciplinary’ studio, representing an impressive collection of photographers, filmmakers and designers.
This exhibition, and the film Universal Music that is set to follow, is a continuation of the themes explored in We Have Decided Not to Die. Confusing? Maybe, a little. Inspiring? Certainly.
