We’ll forgive you if you haven’t been down to Darling Harbour lately. After all, it’s easy to dismiss it as the realm of the tourist and the school group. But if bar openings over the past couple of years are anything to go by (think Grasshopper, Grandma's, Good God Small Club), the city is heading for a reinvigoration. Plus, it’s about time we stopped taking those lovely harbour views for granted.
To give you a little nudge in the right direction, we’re giving you the chance to win a $100 bar tab courtesy of Helm Bar. On February 26, Helm are hosting a party to celebrate the launch of their Lower Deck area, and to mourn the end of summer. There’ll be a seafood barbecue, music and, of course, that cracking view. Should you be lucky enough to win, the bar tab will be yours to spend on the day, so start thinking about which of your friends have been the nicest to you lately.
To enter, email us with your full name and phone number. Of course, you’ll need to be over 18, and you’ll need to be signed up to Kluster. Entries close February 22. Please note the bar tab is only redeemable on Sat Feb 26, so clear your diary.

As you are probably all well aware, Smirnoff recently launched its newest foray into international events, the Nightlife Exchange Program. The "one of kind global experience" sees creatives from 14 countries putting together crates containing cream-of-the-crop aspects of their city's nightlife. The countries then send them abroad to party start.
Australia was hooked up with a crate from Brazil, compiled by MTV VJ, Leo Madeira. If our experiences in party paradise are anything to go by, we reckon there is going to be some serious fun fodder in that bad boy.
We're offering three lucky Kluster subscribers the chance to win a double pass to the Sydney event on 27th November.
To be in the running follow the instructions below.
To enter simply email info@kluster.com.au with the subject: I love the nightlife
Closes: 4pm, Friday 19th November, 2010 (that's this Friday, folks).
Before you get to entering, we've been informed by organisers there are a few small catches: You have to be over 18. Sorry kids! And, you have to live in Sydney or be willing to get yourself here and house yourself. Flights and accommodation are not included. Sorry struggling artists!

The Finders Keepers and Kluster have a lot in common. A love for their cities, a passion for great fashion, art and design and an all-encompassing adoration of music and good times. It’s why we make such good friends, all those common interests. There’s that, and then there is also our shared passion for emerging creatives and the vast amounts of joy we experience from the supporting of said creatives.
In order to celebrate this common bond Kluster and The Finders Keepers are giving two lucky designers the opportunity to win a space at our very own Kluster Presents... stall at the upcoming Spring/Summer markets at CarriageWorks, Sydney next month.
Think you've got what it takes to represent? Great, confidence is half the battle. All you need to do now is submit an application that adheres to The Finders Keepers selection criteria. And, if selected, arrive on the day with wares in hand ready to display and purvey. We’ll cover the set up costs, provide the table space and promise to talk about you to all our friends constantly in the lead up to this season’s event. It’s that easy. Just make sure you read over the selection criteria before applying.More...

After receiving a standing ovation on closing night at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and featuring at both the Sydney and Melbourne International Film Festivals, The Tree will be released in Australia September 30. The moving story of an eight-year old girl who’s convinced her dead father has come back to protect her family and speaks to her through the leaves of her favourite tree, it’s an absorbing and touching film. Set and filmed entirely in Queeensland but with a French director, Julie Bertuccelli, and actor, Charlotte Gainsbourg, this is an Australian story with a difference.
To celebrate the release we have an in-season double pass to give away to five lucky new Kluster subscribers, so get subscribing.

Boy is both a heartbreaking and hilarious coming-of-age story about a dreamer called Boy (James Rolleston) who lives in rural New Zealand in 1984 and whose idol, besides Michael Jackson, is his long-absent father, who finally shows up in Boy’s life and turns out to be a bit of a disappointment, really. Rather than the close relative of MJ’s with rad moonwalking abilities Boy had hoped for, Alamein is in fact just returning from a seven-year stint in jail for robbery and is not even a deep sea diver or a war hero. But what follows is a beautifully told story of father-son bonding, of growing up, and of learning to get by with the hand you’ve been dealt.

As part of the seventh annual Australian Poetry Festival, a group of poets calling themselves the Guerrilla Army has designs to take over the Sydney CBD from late August – with a poetic twist, of course.
Sydney’s creative team, Token Imagination, will be recruiting ten of the best poets to compose a speech bubble of poetry each for the strike. These will be duplicated to make 100 speech bubbles per poet that will sweep across the streets of Sydney city. The Guerilla Army is on an undying mission to communicate all that’s lyrical and poetic in its efforts to create the biggest racket for Sydney’s budding creative talents.
To enlist in the Guerilla Army, go to www.tokenimagination.com or contact Token Imagination info@tokenimagination.com before August 1. The ten winners will be announced at Stanley Street Station on August 3.

Money. We certainly work hard to earn it. So what better way to keep it nice and cosy (while you still have it) than in a wallet you’ve designed yourself.
Dosh, the Sydney-based wallet brand that likes collaborating with creative thinkers has decided to team up with front-running design conference, Semi-Permanent, for a competition that offers like-minded artists a chance to be one of their design collaborators.
The winning design will be plastered on their virtually indestructible wallets and sold on Dosh’s website and in stores worldwide. And the cool part, you’ll actually earn 5% from every wallet with your design that gets sold. For more information log on
here or here to download the design template.
Competition closes on March 27.

Don't these look like bare canvases to you? Start designing.
