an important pile of melting wax

Turn Me On Design (TMOD), the brain-child of Sydney based jewelry artists Milenka Osen and Georgie Swift, is playing its part against global warming by joining the Oxfam climate change exhibition ‘footprints’ at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Sydney on March 22nd.

Their piece, "Burning the candle at both ends", hopes to show the devastation caused by the polar ice caps melting by placing a large glacier candle on top of a world map. During the length of the exhibition the candle will burn and spread the wax all over the world, symbolizing the effect global warming is having on the planets glaciers.

For posterity, a time lapse video will be set up to capture the burning and melting process of the exhibition.

Head to the MCA on March 22nd from 12pm-4pm to to check it out.
