Brother-sister design duo, Georgie and Alex Cleary’s love affair with film continues in their SS 09/10 collection, The Falling. It seems fitting then that their showing be opened, and closed, with snippets of French film, La Haine. What came in between was a collection in keeping with the brother-sister duo’s apparent design ethos: ever interesting, disregarding the status quo. Billowing sweater-dresses, layered high-waisted, ankle length pencil skirts. Sweaters were worn over patchwork dresses. There are no straight, predictable lines in this range.

RAFW is well under way, power outages and all. We've been spending a bit of time down at the Overseas Passenger Terminal this week, eyeballing the new ranges and finding out what's in store for Australian fashion this Spring. Bring on the summer, we say. Of course, not before we are allowed ample time to hibernate, with a book, an open fire and a generous glass of Pinot.
We digress. Back to the fashion:
Highlights of the first three days include Bec & Bridge and Alpha 60. Details to follow.
